Reno NV
21 March 2007
I visited two lovely labyrinths in Reno NV. The first was a rock labyrinth taking advantage of some open space under an overpass. It is under Wells Avenue at the Brodhead Memorial Park. The second is a Santa Rosa(tm) brick labyrinths in the Rancho San Rafael Regional Park near the Wilbur D. May Arboretum. Both of these labyrinths were found via Veriditas' Labyrinth Locator.
Wells Avenue Labyrinth This is a lovely labyrinth under an overpass next to a bike/pedestrian path. It was created and build by Pamela Dallas and she currently is maintaining it when it needs repairing. It is near running water and the cars going across the overpass overhead make for interesting white noise. I am unfamiliar with the style but it has 7 circuits. My camera didn't work that day so I grabed copies from her wonderful slide show. The pictures are hers and I claim no credit. I just wanted to show what it looked like. |

Labyrinth Garden at Rancho San Rafael Regional Park This is a Santa Rosa Labyrinth style 7-circuit made of two different color bricks. It is dedicated to VICTORY (Victim's in Crisis, Turmoil or Recovery). It is very well constructed and a beautiful setting. It is my first Santa Rosa Labyrinth and the first where the lines seemed sort of odd because they were the same as the path. Before I could leave it, I had to meander all over it because it felt like a upscale driveway. The first picture is from the google maps page. One was from a local paper online and the rest are from the May Center website. |
