Independance Weekend

I normally don't like holidays so I do what I can to keep busy enough for them
to slide by quickly. I outdid myself this year. On Sat morning/afternoon,
it was up to Marin County to hang with Don and Cheryl and that crowd. I realized
I was the only one in the group that wasn't an And (as in Gina And... and kids).
My friends have mated and spawned. I am a Single to remind them of what they
have left behind. *sigh* :)
Sat evening was another DHP and man, was it packed. I managed to get really toasted earlier in the day (and by that I mean sunburn) so when I wasn't panicking about that, I had a good time. Bryan makes some mean barbeque. *yum*
Sunday was another party less than 5 miles away from DHP with a different crowd of people. I arrived and walked into a room of crafts. I figure for this group, I am going to have to pick up a portable craft to fit in. Good food, good company.
Monday, I had lunch with a pseudo family member. I dated
his cousin for four years back in the early 90s and have petitioned to be adopted
by his parents. I would still be included in Xmas even after I broke up with
the boyfriend. Now, since I don't head out of state for Xmas, I send chocolate
to ensure I keep my foot in the door. So I had lunch with my Pseudo cousin/nephew/brother/thing
and his delightful girlfriend. We talked so long that I am afraid they didn't
get to much else with their day. I am sure they enjoyed it anyway.
